Lizano Kicks Off 2024 with a New Year’s Eve Show at Reno Public Market

As the clock prepared to usher in 2024, the local Reno band Lizano took center stage at the Reno Public Market, transforming the venue into a hub of excitement and celebration. The atmosphere was electric, with a crowd eager to welcome the New Year. The anticipation in the air was palpable, the drinks were flowing, the food was flying out of the local vendor's kitchens!

The Reno Public Market, new on the block and pushing the limits of what a true entertainment venue can be in this city, was the perfect setting for this high-energy event. As Lizano hit the stage, the audience erupted in cheers, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. The band kicked off their 3 part set, immediately captivating the crowd. Their setlist was a well-curated mix of original songs and carefully selected covers that kept the energy high throughout the evening. they also shared the stage and played songs featuring tony rizz of @rizzandthevelieverz out of nashville tennessee.

Highlights of the performance included their dynamic execution of crowd favorites such as “satisfied” and “us vs them” which had the audience singing along enthusiastically. Lizano also surprised fans with covers of red hot chili peppers, sublime and more, showcasing their versatility and paying homage to classic influences. The band's interaction with the audience was another standout feature of the night. Lead vocalist, Jay, frequently engaged with the crowd, sharing anecdotes and thanking fans for their support, creating a sense of intimacy and connection.

as midnight approached, Lizano led the countdown after completing their 3 part set for the evening, with the entire venue joining in the final seconds. The transition into the New Year was marked by a well executed balloon drop with prizes hidden inside the balloons for all the people waiting enthusiastically below to pop and find! prizes included money and gift cards to the food vendors in the building along with some other fun items!

As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I've undertaken as a concert photographer, a journey that began with Lizano. I extend my deepest gratitude to the band for giving me my first opportunity to shoot photos at their concerts.
